Question 1

What is Gasp?

Accepted Answer

Gasp is a library of short dramas: series told in quick vertical episodes, made for your phone by independent creators and studios, with AI and with their own footage.

Question 2

Do I need an account to watch?

Accepted Answer

Not for the first 3 episodes of a series, which are free to everyone. Signed in, the first 5 are free, and you need an account to unlock episodes after those, to save favorites and your place, to follow creators and studios, and to send them a work inquiry. Series rated R or NC-17 need sign-in to watch.

Sign up takes a minute, and anyone can.

Question 3

Why is an episode locked?

Accepted Answer

The first 3 episodes of every series are free, and the first 5 once you sign in. After those, an episode unlocks with 50 coins (or the rest of its season at once, for less, with a season bundle), or with VIP, which unlocks everything while it's active. See coins and VIP.

Series rated R or NC-17 need sign-in to watch, so their free episodes play once you're signed in and have confirmed your age.

Question 4

Why am I asked to confirm my age?

Accepted Answer

Series rated R or NC-17 are for adults, and they need sign-in to watch, free episodes included. The first time you open one, confirm that you're 18 or older; it's remembered on your account, so you're asked once. You're asked before any episode of the series plays and before any coins are spent on it.

How ratings work is in the Content Guidelines.

Question 5

How do I pick up where I left off?

Accepted Answer

While you're signed in, Gasp saves your place in every episode. Continue watching on the Watch page and the series page take you straight back to it.

Question 6

How do I save a series for later?

Accepted Answer

Tap the star on a series or an episode. Your starred series are on Favorites, and you can get an email when one of them has a new episode.

Question 7

How do I follow a creator or a studio?

Accepted Answer

Tap Follow on a creator's or a studio's page, or beside the "by" line on a series page and, on a larger screen, the watch page. You need to be signed in. The creators and studios you follow are on Following, newest first, where you can unfollow any of them; tapping Following on a page unfollows it too.

When a creator or studio you follow launches a new series, announces a season on Coming soon, premieres a new season or publishes new episodes of a series (one notice per series a day), you get a notification, and an email unless you've turned it off on Notifications or with the link at its foot. When you follow a page, Gasp tells you this, with a link to that switch, and Following says it too. Notices of the same day that come close together usually arrive as one email, though a Coming soon notice is held a little longer and may come on its own. A series you've starred tells you about its new episodes and seasons itself, so following doesn't repeat them, and following tells you nothing about a series rated R or NC-17 until you've confirmed you're 18 or older. If you unfollow before an email goes, it doesn't go (Privacy Policy).

How many people follow a creator or a studio shows on their page once anyone does. Who follows them isn't shown to anyone, the creator or the studio included.

You can't follow your own page or a studio you're a member of, and a page Gasp has hidden, a studio page that isn't public yet or a closed studio can't be followed. If a page you follow comes down later, it stays on Following, without a link, until you unfollow it. A follow lasts until you unfollow, join that studio or delete your account, or until the creator deletes theirs or the studio closes because its last owner deleted theirs (Privacy Policy).

Question 8

How do I hire a creator or a studio?

Accepted Answer

A creator or a studio that takes on work shows Hire me (a creator) or Work with us (a studio) on their page, with the kinds of project they take on. Use it to send them a work inquiry: pick the kind of project, add a budget range and a timeline if you like, and say what you have in mind in 40 to 2,000 characters. You need to be signed in, to have confirmed you're 18 or older, and to have an email address on your account. You can't send one to your own page or to a studio you're a member of.

A person at Gasp reads every inquiry before it's sent on (what we check). If it's approved, the creator, or the studio's owners, get it in a notification and an email with your name, handle and account email address, and if they want to take it further they reply to that address. Gasp never shows you their email address; you'll see it if they write back. Either way you get a notification and an email: that it was sent, or that it wasn't, with the reason.

You can send up to 5 inquiries a day, and have one at a time waiting for review with each page. Anything you agree is between you and them: Gasp doesn't vet either side or the project, isn't part of the deal, and takes and holds no money for it (Terms of Service).

Question 9

Where's my watch history, and can I clear it?

Accepted Answer

History lists what you've watched, by day. Remove one episode or clear it all; clearing also removes your watched marks and your place in every series.

Question 10

How do I share or embed an episode?

Accepted Answer

Use Share on the watch page to post an episode, copy its link, or choose Embed for a player you can put on your own site. An embed plays the first 3 episodes of a series (none of a series rated R or NC-17); any other episode shows a link to watch it on Gasp.

Question 11

Are there captions?

Accepted Answer

Most do. Captions are made automatically from an episode's audio, so they can contain mistakes, and an episode with no speech, or in a language the captioning doesn't cover, may have none. When an episode has them they're on as it starts. On an episode's page, turn them off or back on from the captions menu in the player's controls, and Gasp remembers your choice in this browser. A player embedded on another site shows them too, with that menu only when the site keeps the player's controls.

Question 12

How accessible is Gasp?

Accepted Answer

We're working toward WCAG 2.2 level AA and haven't been audited by anyone outside Gasp yet. The accessibility statement lists what works today, from captions to keyboard use, and what doesn't yet.

If something gets in your way, write to accessibility@watchgasp.com with the page and what you were trying to do.

Question 13

Can I download episodes?

Accepted Answer

No. Episodes stream on Gasp and in embeds only; downloading, recording or re-uploading them isn't allowed (Terms of Service).

Question 14

What's the difference between coins and VIP?

Accepted Answer

Coins unlock one episode at a time, or the rest of a season at once, for less, with a season bundle (what a bundle costs). An unlock, including one in a bundle, lasts as long as the episode is in the library. VIP is a subscription that unlocks every episode while it's active, billed by the week or by the month (a yearly option comes with the later prices; see the founding price).

Pricing has the coin packs and VIP side by side, at the prices on sale now.

Question 15

What is the founding price?

Accepted Answer

VIP launched at founding prices. Once they end, a new subscription costs $9.99 a week or $29.99 a month, and a yearly option at $199.99 a year comes with them. Pricing shows the prices on sale now, and marks a founding price.

If you subscribe at a founding price, you keep it for as long as that subscription stays active. It ends when you cancel and the period you paid for runs out, or when a payment fails and isn't made up. A new subscription after that pays the prices on sale then. While a payment is failing, VIP is paused and a new subscription can't start: update your card under Manage subscription on Billing to keep yours.

A subscription can't be switched between weekly and monthly. To change, you'd cancel, wait for it to end and subscribe again, at the prices on sale then, so a founding price doesn't carry over (Terms of Service).

Question 16

How much does an episode cost?

Accepted Answer

Every locked episode is 50 coins, shown before you unlock. An unlock is charged once, however many times you watch.

When 5 or more episodes of a season are locked for you, a season bundle unlocks all of them at once for less than one at a time. A 24-episode season with its first 5 free has 19 locked, for example: 950 coins one by one, or 760 as a bundle. A bundle covers the episodes published when you buy it; one published later unlocks as usual.

The bundle is the main button on the first locked episode of each season, and a line in the Episodes list on the others. Tap it and it asks you to confirm the price; tap Confirm to buy, or Cancel. Signed out, the line asks you to sign up or sign in first. If your VIP is set to end, the Episodes list offers it for the episodes that lock when it does.

Question 17

Where do I buy coins?

Accepted Answer

On Wallet or Pricing, or straight from a locked episode when you don't have enough. Payments are handled by Stripe, and from a locked episode you come back to it afterwards.

Buying for a season bundle highlights the smallest pack that covers what you're short (the largest, if none does) and brings you back to the bundle; nothing is unlocked until you tap it and confirm.

Question 18

Where did my coins go?

Accepted Answer

Wallet lists every coin purchase and unlock under coin history (a season bundle is one line), and Billing lists every order.

Question 19

Do coins expire?

Accepted Answer

Not while your account is open. Unspent coins are lost when you delete your account, and forfeited if it's closed for breaking the rules. Coins have no cash value and can't be transferred (Terms of Service).

Question 20

How do I cancel VIP?

Accepted Answer

On Billing, choose Manage subscription. Cancelling stops the next renewal, and you keep VIP until the period you paid for ends. The current period isn't refunded (Terms of Service).

Manage subscription doesn't switch a subscription between weekly and monthly: cancel, and subscribe again once it ends (what that means for a founding price).

Question 21

Where's my receipt?

Accepted Answer

Stripe, our payment processor, emails a receipt for every payment. Billing lists your orders too.

Question 22

Can I get a refund?

Accepted Answer

Purchases are final, except where the law where you live gives you a right to a refund, as it does for consumers in the EU and the UK (Terms of Service).

If you think that applies to you, write to support with the date and the amount.

Question 23

How do I change my email, password or how I sign in?

Accepted Answer

On Sign-in & security: your email addresses, connected accounts, password and signed-in devices.

Question 24

Can I change my handle or display name?

Accepted Answer

Yes, both, on Profile. A handle is 3 to 24 lowercase letters, digits or underscores, and it has to be free.

If you have a creator page, its address changes with your handle, and links to the old address stop working.

If Gasp changed your name or handle, both stay locked until we lift the lock, and Profile shows why. A handle Gasp replaced is held, so nobody can claim it, you included, until we release it (why Gasp changes a name).

Question 25

Why did Gasp change my name or handle?

Accepted Answer

When a name or handle breaks the Content Guidelines, for example by pretending to be another person, studio or brand, we can change it. You get a notification and an email with the reason; for a team studio's name or handle, they go to the studio's owners. We may also clear the headline and kicker on the page.

The new name and handle stay locked until we lift the lock; Profile, or Studio settings for a studio, shows the reason. The old handle is held, so nobody can claim it, you included, until we release it. A creator or studio page moves to the new handle's address, and links to the old one stop working.

If you think it's a mistake, reply to the email or write to support, and we'll look again.

Question 26

How do I stop emails?

Accepted Answer

These emails are optional: finished renders, new episodes of series you've starred, and new work from the creators and studios you follow. Turn any of them off on Notifications or with the link at the foot of the email.

The rest are about your account, review and moderation decisions, payments, payouts, your studio and work inquiries, and are part of the service. The Privacy Policy lists them all.

Question 27

How do I delete my account?

Accepted Answer

On Sign-in & security, under Delete account. Before you confirm, it lists exactly what you'd lose: VIP ends without a refund for the rest of the period, unspent coins are lost, and a studio you own alone closes. A studio you co-own carries on with its plan. If your card pays for that plan, Delete stays off until another owner takes over billing in Studio settings, under Plan, or the plan is set not to renew (if its last payment failed, that payment has to go through first). If your account is deleted some other way, a plan your card still pays for ends at the close of its current period (at once, if its last payment failed), and your card isn't charged for it again.

Your name, email address, handle and profile picture are removed from your account, and so are your favorites, the creators and studios you follow, your likes, notifications and creator page. When a studio closes with your account, every follow of it, of your creator page included, is deleted too. So are the work inquiries you sent and those your creator page received, the blocks your page set and every block of you, and a closing studio's inquiries and blocks; an inquiry already sent on stays in the email its recipients got. Your name and email address are also cleared from the customer record Stripe holds for your payments; Stripe keeps its past invoices and receipts. Notifications other people already received keep the name they showed, and our copies of emails already sent, to you or passing on an inquiry of yours, keep what they showed until they're deleted, 30 days after they were sent. Purchase, unlock and payout records and your watch history are kept under a closed-account number that no longer names you, and your old handle stays held so no one else can take it.

The Terms of Service say what happens after, and the Privacy Policy which records are kept. If your account is suspended, write to privacy@watchgasp.com instead.

Question 28

Can I get a copy of my data?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Write to privacy@watchgasp.com from the email on your account and say what you need: a copy, a correction or a deletion. The Privacy Policy lists your rights.

Question 29

My account is suspended. What can I do?

Accepted Answer

The notice and the email we sent give the reason. You can still browse, but anything that needs your account, from unlocking to the studio, is paused. When the suspension is lifted, you get another notification and email saying so.

If you think it's a mistake, reply to the email or write to support, and we'll look again.

Question 30

How do I get a studio?

Accepted Answer

Apply as a creator on Creators and we'll email your invite code when your studio is ready; the link in that email opens your studio, or type the code under "Have an invite code?" there or on your Profile. A studio owner can also invite you to their team by email, and Gasp can invite you to a studio it set up for you.

Making on Gasp comes with the Creator Terms, which you accept when you first get in. The studio is for people 18 or older, and you confirm that you are when you accept.

Question 31

Why did I lose access to the studio?

Accepted Answer

Gasp can take studio access back from an account (Terms of Service), but only from one with nothing left there: no series and no plan in its own studio, no payout account, and no place on anyone else's team. You get a notification and an email with the reason.

You keep your account and can go on watching, but the studio is closed to you and your creator page comes down. If you think it's a mistake, reply to the email or write to support.

Question 32

What are credits?

Accepted Answer

Credits pay for everything your studio generates: writing, images, video and character voices. Every button shows its price before you spend, and one balance is shared by everyone in the studio.

Credits lists what was spent, by series and by person.

Gasp sometimes adds credits to a studio from its admin tools. The owners get a notification and an email with the reason, and it shows in Credits.

Question 33

Which AI models can I use?

Accepted Answer

Every plan can use every image and writing model we have switched on, and every video model that can render at or below the plan's resolution; one that renders only above it shows in the video menu as above your plan. Each of those has a model menu beside its button that shows every model's price before you spend, and it starts on your last pick or on Gasp's default. The menu for the brainstorm chat and pitches lists Gasp's free chat models first when there are any, marked Free while you have free calls left today, and starts on the first of them until you pick another; free calls run without a reasoning setting. A Live Action series lists only the video models that can render it, and a shot that continues the previous one lists only the models that can continue it.

We add models, and switch others off or stop offering them, so the menu changes over time. Studio pricing lists today's video and image models and what each costs.

Question 34

Am I charged when a generation fails?

Accepted Answer

No. Starting a generation holds its price, and at the end only what finished is charged; the rest goes back to your balance (Creator Terms).

Question 35

Why does the studio say generation is paused or unavailable?

Accepted Answer

Now and then we pause generation for everyone to control cost or abuse, or a provider we render with is down. Nothing is charged for work that didn't happen, so try again a little later (Terms of Service).

One model can also be unavailable on its own. The studio names it and says why: it's switched off right now and may come back, it's no longer offered, it can't render Live Action, or it renders only above your plan's resolution. Pick another model from the same menu; what you already made with it stays. If no model that's on can continue a shot in your series, make it a New shot instead.

Generation can also be paused on one account when a rule is broken (Content Guidelines). You get a notification and an email with the reason, and the studio shows it. Until the pause is lifted your renders, AI writing and voices are paused, and work you queued that hadn't started is stopped; the rest of your studio can still generate. When it's lifted, you get another notification and email. If you think it's a mistake, reply to the email or write to support.

Gasp can also pause spending in a whole studio (Creator Terms). Every studio page then says why: renders, exports, AI writing, voices and video uploads are paused, work queued that hadn't started is stopped, and the credits stay in the balance. The owners get a notification and an email when Gasp pauses it from its admin tools and when it resumes it.

Question 36

Can I see or change the prompt Gasp sends?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every video take, storyboard frame, pose, sheet, place angle, object image, poster and cover has its prompt one click away: in the shot's panel on Generate and Storyboard, on the cast, place and object cards, and in the image viewer. You can rewrite it; the reference images stay the ones Gasp sends, and their tags can't be added or renumbered.

Your version is sent for every new take until you reset it, and it's marked Edited. A video prompt belongs to the video model it was written for. If the shot or asset changes afterwards, the prompt is marked out of date so you can review it. Editing is free, and your prompt still goes through the same content check as Gasp's (Guidelines).

Question 37

Do I need a plan?

Accepted Answer

Yes, to start a series. A plan gives your studio credits every month and sets how many series it can run, how many people can join and the highest resolution it renders (a video model that renders only above it isn't available on that plan). Plan credits you don't use roll over up to a cap; credits you buy don't count toward it.

Sometimes Gasp provides a plan for a studio it set up, for a trial or a partnership, or for a while for a studio whose first owner is on Gasp's staff. Studio settings, under Plan, tells the studio's owners, and Billing tells everyone in it, that Gasp provides it and when it ends, if it does. It sets the limits of the plan it names, with at most 4 shots rendering at once and 60 minutes of uploaded video live at once, adds no monthly credits and isn't billed. When its last day is over or Gasp ends it, the studio can't spend credits, even ones it bought, until it has a paid plan or Gasp provides one again; its credits, series and episodes stay (Creator Terms).

Studio pricing compares the plans, and the Creator Terms have the details.

Question 38

How do I change or cancel my plan?

Accepted Answer

The studio owner does it from Studio settings, under Plan. Credits already granted stay in the studio after you cancel, but without a plan it can't start a new series.

A studio with more than one owner bills its plan to the owner who bought it. Another owner can take over billing from the same place, which puts their own card on the plan. Until another owner takes over, or the plan is cancelled, the owner who pays can't delete their account (how deleting works).

A plan Gasp provides isn't changed or cancelled there: write to support about it. The owner can buy a plan at any time from studio pricing; the paid plan replaces the one from Gasp from the moment it starts.

Question 39

How do I buy more credits?

Accepted Answer

The studio owner buys credit packs on Wallet. Some plans take a discount off every pack; studio pricing shows which.

Question 40

How do I start a new series?

Accepted Answer

Choose New series. After a few quick picks (the format, where it's set, how it feels and how many episodes), there are three ways in: talk it through with Gasp in a chat, let Gasp pitch you ideas, or start from scratch, which is free and gives you an empty bible to write yourself.

In the chat, each reply is charged at the price shown in the message box, which can rise a little as the chat gets longer. On Gasp's free chat models, when there are any, replies and pitches are free instead, even with no credits, up to the number of free calls a day Gasp sets for each person. That number is shared by every free chat model, and by replies and pitches together; the message box shows how many are left, and they come back at 00:00 UTC. Past it, the free chat models are charged at their price. As you talk, Gasp keeps notes under Story so far (on a phone, tap Story so far at the top of the chat); editing them is free, and your edits go with your next message. Besides the premise, the lead and the hook, the notes keep the cast, places and objects you settle on, the season's big moments (on an episode, when you name one) and the lines you want kept word for word, so a long chat doesn't lose them; you can add, change or remove any of them by hand. A moment set past your season's last episode stays where you put it and is marked so you can move it. As soon as there's a note, Generate the story writes the bible from the notes at the price on its button, filling any gaps from your picks. Every character, place and object in the notes goes into the bible, however many there are: the bible's usual limits (and yours under More control) only cap the ones Gasp adds, and a name Gasp writes out in full, like Mara Quinn for your Mara, counts as yours. You can edit or remove any of them on the bible, but adding another still stops at the usual limit. Another take keeps them all, on the series' Bible page too, where it also brings back one you removed; the other revisions there keep the people, places and objects as you left them. The lines you kept go into the bible's Lines word for word, and each moment set on an episode becomes one of the season's Moments beside the arc, at that episode; you can edit both on the bible before Looks right and on the series' Bible page after, and the Moments of any season in the Writers Room too (what the room does with them). A chat holds 80 messages, yours and Gasp's together.

Let Gasp come up with something pitches 3 ideas from your picks for the price shown (free on a free chat model), and you can ask for more. Generate this story writes the bible from one at the price on its button, and Talk it through opens the chat with it, free. The chat and the pitches share a model menu, apart from the one that writes the bible, and each shows its prices before you spend. Only the chat and the pitches can be free: writing the bible and every AI call after it is charged at its price on every model.

Once the bible is written, Keep talking (Talk it through, for a bible from a pitch) takes you back to the chat with the bible kept, and Back to the bible returns for free. If you've pitched again since and that pitch is no longer among your cards, the card takes you to your pitches instead. In the chat, Generate the story becomes Update the bible: it revises the bible from the notes at the price on its button, building on the one you have, your edits included, and keeps its Lines and Moments as you left them, adding only the ones that came into the notes since: one you removed or reworded on the bible stays that way.

While a chat is open it's private to you, even in a team. Your open chats show on Your series beside your series, to pick up or discard, and the Start screen offers your latest. Looks right keeps the chat with the series it creates, read-only: anyone in the studio can read it and its Story so far notes under Brainstorm on the series' Bible page, where the series' own tools take over. It's deleted with the series or with your account. An open chat never expires, and you keep at most 10 open in a studio: starting another deletes your oldest, and leaving the studio, being removed from it, or the studio closing (its last owner deleting their account) deletes your open ones there (Privacy Policy).

Question 41

How does the Writers Room use my kept lines and moments?

Accepted Answer

A moment is pinned to an episode of a season. In the Writers Room you can add, change, re-pin or remove the moments of any season for free (season 1's are the same ones the Bible page shows). A ◆ marks each episode that has one, a later season's arc in the room lists each moment under the beat that covers its episode, and one set past the season's last episode stays where you put it, marked so you can move it, and is not played, even by an episode made there, until you move it. Drafting a season's arc lays the beats around the moments, breaking down a beat asks for each moment in its episode (an overview you wrote yourself stays as written) and sets up the ones still to come, and writing that episode tells the writer it must play them. The episode's overview shows them under Must play. Moving an episode takes its moments with it; a move that would give a season two moments with the same words, or more than 24, is refused until you change one.

A kept line is one of the bible's Lines. When a beat is broken down, Gasp places each line not yet used in the one episode it writes where the line lands best (never in an overview you wrote yourself, which it keeps), at most once a season, and ends that episode's What happens with Lands: and the line in quotes, which you can see and edit like the rest of the overview. Quote a line in an overview yourself, in double quotes, to place it there. When an episode is written, the writer is told to have each kept line that episode lands said word for word by its speaker: a line lands in one episode only, the first whose What happens ends on its Lands:, else the first whose overview quotes it, so quoting it again later as a callback does not ask for it twice; a long one may run on over two shots. Gasp then checks that the screenplay says each of those lines word for word (capitals and punctuation aside, a long one allowed to run on over shots in a row by the same speaker; it checks the words, not who says them). If one is missing, the writer gets one more try at no extra cost, told which line it missed. If the line is still missing, the screenplay is kept and the episode is marked: the Writers Room and the Script tab name the line beside Rewrite, and a rewrite that says it, or typing it into the screenplay yourself, clears the mark. If the episode's moments or kept lines change after its screenplay is written (a moment added, changed, removed or re-pinned, or a line that now lands in another episode), the same places say so until you rewrite it; moving the episode does not. Gasp cannot check that a moment was played without another paid call, so read the screenplay for those. A breakdown, arc draft or episode write with moments or kept lines to work in costs a little more, and the price on its button already includes it.

Question 42

Can I make series with other people?

Accepted Answer

Yes, on a plan with more than one seat. The owner turns the studio into a team in Studio settings and invites people by email; an invite lasts 14 days. Everyone in a team shares its series and its credits.

If the plan drops to fewer seats than people, or an owner Gasp invited joins a full studio, the newest members are paused (they can still look around, or leave) until a seat frees up (Creator Terms).

Question 43

How do I credit the people who made a series?

Accepted Answer

In a team, an owner credits members on a series from the series' Settings, under Credits, with a role like Writer or Director. The credit shows on the person's creator page, on the series page and on the studio page while the series is in the library, and it stays after they leave the team.

Credited and it isn't right? Remove it from your creator page settings; only the studio can add it back.

Question 44

Can I announce a season before it's out?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Any season with nothing published yet can be announced from the series' Settings, under Coming soon, with a premiere date and a line for viewers. The card shows under Coming soon on your creator page (a team's on its studio page), and on the series page once the series is live. A first season announced before it's published shows without a link.

Once the date passes with nothing out, the card reads "Premieres soon" until you move it, and it comes down by itself when the season's first episode is published.

A new card also tells the people who follow your creator page (for a team, its studio page), once per season: a notification and, unless they've turned it off, an email naming the series, the season and the date, never your line for viewers. Changing the card or its date, taking it down and announcing the season again, or deleting the season and adding it again, doesn't tell them again (an email still waiting to go carries the new date), and nothing is sent while the series is suspended or the page can't be followed (who hears about what).

Question 45

How do I take work inquiries?

Accepted Answer

In your creator page settings, under Work with me, switch on Take project inquiries and pick the kinds of project you take on: your page then shows Hire me and a short section listing them. For a team, an owner does the same under Work with us in the Studio page settings, and every owner who isn't suspended receives its inquiries; members don't. Gasp's own studio doesn't take them. Change the list or switch it off at any time: an inquiry still waiting for Gasp's review isn't sent to you once you've switched off, or no longer list its kind of project.

Gasp reviews every inquiry before it reaches you (what we check). An approved one comes as a notification and an email with the sender's message, the kind of project, the budget and timeline if they gave them, and their name, handle and account email address. Reply to that email to answer them: the reply goes to their address, not to Gasp, and shows them yours. They're also listed on Inquiries (a team's on Studio inquiries, for its owners only). Opening one marks it read (on a team, for every owner), and from there you can reply by email, archive it, report it or block its sender (how).

Your page offers inquiries only while it's live and you aren't suspended (a team's, while its page is public and at least one owner isn't suspended). Money from work you take on this way is between you and the client: it isn't earnings, and Gasp takes no share of it and isn't part of the deal (Creator Terms, Creator Payout Terms). Inquiries are deleted 180 days after they were sent, unless a report about one is still open, and our copy of the email that passed one on, 30 days after it was sent (Privacy Policy).

Question 46

Why is my episode waiting for review?

Accepted Answer

A person checks every episode before it goes live, and you can withdraw it while it waits. You get a notification and an email with the decision; if changes are requested, the note says what, and you resubmit once they're made.

When you submit, you can also pick a later date and time for it to go live. Approved before then, it's scheduled: it stays locked, goes live at that time, and you can release it early or take it off the schedule (which sends it back for review).

Unpublishing takes an episode down at once, and putting it back up needs another review (Creator Terms).

Question 47

Who hears about my new episodes?

Accepted Answer

The first time an episode goes live, everyone who starred its series gets a notification for it and, unless they've turned it off, an email; episodes published close together arrive as one email. Putting back up an episode that was taken down tells nobody again.

People who follow your creator page (for a team, its studio page) get at most one notice per series a day about new episodes, naming the first one published that day; the rest that day add nothing. A new series, the first episode of a new season and a new Coming soon card each get a notice of their own. Followers who starred the series hear about its new episodes and seasons from their favorites instead, so nobody gets both.

Nobody in your studio is told about its own work. Notices about a series rated R or NC-17 reach only followers who've confirmed they're 18 or older, and while your page is hidden, or a team's page isn't public yet, followers get no follower notices about anything new, though anyone who starred one of its series still hears about that series' new episodes (Privacy Policy).

Question 48

My page is hidden or my series is suspended. What can I do?

Accepted Answer

When a creator's or a studio's page breaks the Content Guidelines, we can hide it; when a series or an episode does, or a valid copyright notice names it, we can suspend it. Each comes with a notification and an email that give the reason: a creator page's to its creator, a studio page's to the studio's owners, a series' to the studio's owners and to its creator while they're still in the studio, and an episode's to its creator and the studio's owners.

A hidden page's address shows a not-found page to everyone else (its own creator, or its studio's members, see a notice with the reason instead), while the series on it stay in the library. A hidden page can't be followed and its follower count isn't shown, but the people who already follow it keep following it, though following tells them nothing it releases while it's hidden (anyone who starred one of its series still hears about that series' new episodes). It doesn't offer Hire me or Work with us either, and an inquiry still waiting for Gasp's review isn't sent on. The page can still be edited from creator page settings or Studio page, which show the reason. A suspended series or episode leaves the library and stops playing, even for viewers who had unlocked it, and may later be removed; a suspended series shows the reason on its Overview.

When we lift a suspension or restore a page, the same people get another notification and email saying so.

We can also change a creator's or a studio's name or handle that breaks the rules. That alone doesn't hide the page, which moves to the new handle's address.

If you think it's a mistake, reply to the email or write to support, and we'll look again. For a copyright notice, the counter-notice is the route that carries legal weight.

Question 49

Why was my series, episode or Coming soon card removed?

Accepted Answer

We remove a series or an episode only once it, or its series, has been suspended (Content Guidelines). Removing deletes it from Gasp: unlike a suspension, it can't be lifted, and viewers who had unlocked it lose it. Each removal comes with a notification and an email that give the reason: an episode's to its creator and the studio's owners, a series' to the studio's owners and to its creator while they're still in the studio.

We can also take down a season's Coming soon card without touching the series. Its notice goes to the same people as a series', and the season can be announced again from the series' Settings, under Coming soon.

If you think it's a mistake, reply to the email or write to support.

Question 50

Can I upload episodes I made elsewhere?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every plan includes minutes of uploaded episodes. An upload must be vertical video you hold the rights to, and it's reviewed like any other episode. Start from Upload a series; the Creator Terms have the rules.

Question 51

Can I edit an episode in another app?

Accepted Answer

Yes, on a plan. On an episode's Assemble step, download its clips, edit them in any video editor (trims, transitions, titles, music you hold the rights to), and upload the finished vertical video as your cut. It has to be built from that episode's clips. It's reviewed like any other episode, and once published it counts toward your plan's uploaded minutes.

If you change the shots afterwards, your cut keeps playing as you uploaded it until you upload a new one, or export the shots to replace it. The Creator Terms have the rules.

Question 52

Can I use a clip I made with another AI tool for one shot?

Accepted Answer

Yes, on a plan. On Generate, pick the shot and choose Upload a take (or, on Assemble, click a shot that has no clip yet). The clip has to be made with AI, never filmed, vertical, and 2 to 30 seconds long. It becomes one of the shot's takes and is selected, and Export merges it with the rest.

Uploading is free. Once the episode is published, the uploaded clips' seconds count toward your plan's uploaded minutes, and an export with uploaded clips gets an automated check before you can submit it. The Creator Terms have the rules.

Question 53

How do I get paid?

Accepted Answer

Creators earn a share of what viewers spend on their episodes, from coin unlocks and from VIP. Each VIP subscriber's share goes to the studios that subscriber watched that month, and a yearly subscription counts a twelfth in each month of its year. The studio owner sets up payouts with Stripe on Earnings, where everyone in the studio can see the numbers, and every owner gets an email when someone starts setting up payouts or replaces the payout account.

Earnings are paid monthly once the balance reaches $50; a smaller balance carries over, and when Gasp changes a studio's owners, its next payout waits one close. The Creator Payout Terms say how, and who can be paid.

Question 54

How do I report a series, an episode or a profile?

Accepted Answer

Use Report at the foot of a series page, Report on the watch page (on a phone, the flag at the top of the player), or Report at the foot of a creator's or a studio's page. You need to be signed in, and a person reads every report (Content Guidelines).

You can't report your own page or your own studio's work. If something there needs our attention, write to support.

A work inquiry that reached you is reported from Inquiries instead (how).

Question 55

How do I report or block a work inquiry?

Accepted Answer

Open it on Inquiries (a team's, on Studio inquiries) and choose Report, with the closest reason. Only the creator, or the studio's owners, an inquiry reached can report it. A person at Gasp reads every report, and the sender isn't told (Content Guidelines). A reported inquiry is kept until the report is closed, even past the usual 180 days.

Block stops its sender sending your page more inquiries, and one of theirs still waiting for Gasp's review isn't sent on. They get no notice of it, but if they try to send another, they're told your page isn't taking inquiries from their account. A team's block is the studio's, and any owner can lift it. Lift it at any time from Blocked, beside Inbox and Archived, or from any of their inquiries: the sender stays listed there after their inquiries are deleted. The inquiries you already have stay either way.

Question 56

What does Gasp check in a work inquiry, and why?

Accepted Answer

A person at Gasp reads every work inquiry before it's sent on, so creators and studios aren't sent spam. We check only that it's a genuine request about a project. We don't vet the person who sent it, the project or the money, and Gasp isn't part of any deal that comes of it (Terms of Service).

An inquiry we don't approve never reaches the page, and its sender gets a notification and an email with one reason: it didn't read as a request for a project, it read as spam or abuse, it was missing the details needed to answer it, or the page stopped taking inquiries before we got to it. If it was missing details, send a new one that says more. If you think we got it wrong, reply to that email or write to support.

While we review it, we see the sender's name, handle and account email address, how long they've had their account and how their past inquiries went. Our decision is kept as a moderation record, the inquiry itself is deleted 180 days after it was sent, and our copy of the email that passed it on 30 days after that email went (Privacy Policy).

Question 57

A series uses my face, voice or name. What can I do?

Accepted Answer

Real people can't appear on Gasp without their consent (Terms of Service). Report the series and choose "Real person's likeness", or write to support if you'd rather explain.

If a creator's or a studio's page pretends to be you, report the page and choose "Impersonation".

Question 58

Someone put my work on Gasp without permission. What do I do?

Accepted Answer

Send a takedown notice to our copyright agent at dmca@watchgasp.com. The DMCA page says what the notice must include.

Question 59

What's allowed on Gasp?

Accepted Answer

The Content Guidelines say what may and may not be made or published, how series are rated, and what happens when a rule is broken.
