Filing a takedown notice

A complete notice must include all of the following:

• A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner, or of a person authorised to act for them.
• Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed.
• Identification of the material on Gasp you say is infringing, with enough detail for us to find it — the series URL, and the episode number and timestamp where relevant.
• Your name, postal address, telephone number, and email address.
• A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
• A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act on the owner's behalf.

Incomplete notices slow everything down. Knowingly misrepresenting that material is infringing can make you liable for damages under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f).

What we do with it

We aim to acknowledge a notice within two business days. If it is complete we remove or disable access to the material, notify the creator, and pass on your notice. Removed episodes leave the library immediately and stop playing for viewers who had already unlocked them.

Counter-notice

If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake or a misidentification, send a counter-notice to the same address with:

• Your signature, name, address, and telephone number.
• Identification of the removed material and where it appeared before removal.
• A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief it was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
• Consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your district, or for any district in which Gasp may be found if you are outside the United States, and consent to accept service from the person who filed the notice.

We may restore the material 10 to 14 business days after forwarding a valid counter-notice, unless the claimant tells us they have filed a court action.

Repeat infringers

Accounts that accumulate repeated valid notices have generation disabled and are then terminated, in line with the Terms of Service and the Content Guidelines.

A note on AI-generated material

Every episode on Gasp is generated by AI models from creator prompts. Creators are contractually forbidden from prompting for copyrighted characters, scripts, brands, or trade dress, and prompts are screened before generation. Screening is not perfect, which is why this process exists.
