Content Guidelines

Never allowed

• No minors, ever, in a sexual or suggestive context. This includes characters written or depicted as under 18, and adults styled to read as children. There is no artistic exception. Accounts are suspended on the first offence and reported where the law requires it.
• No real people without documented consent. Do not prompt for a named celebrity, politician, influencer, or private individual, and do not upload a photograph of a real person as a character reference unless you have their written permission. Deceased people count.
• No copyrighted intellectual property. No named characters, scripts, logos, brands, or distinctive costumes from films, games, comics, or other shows.
• No sexual content involving coercion, and no explicit pornography of any kind. Mature drama is fine; a sex scene you would not see on broadcast television is not.
• No hate, harassment, or incitement against people for who they are, and no glorification of terrorism, mass violence, or self-harm.
• No dangerous misinformation presented as fact, and no content designed to defraud viewers.
• No impersonation. Creator and studio pages — names, handles, pictures, and page text — follow the same rules, and must not pretend to be another person, studio, or brand.
• No spam, scams, phishing, or harassment in work inquiries. An inquiry through a creator’s or a studio’s page is for a genuine project. Advertising, mass messages, attempts to get money or personal details by deception, and harassment are not allowed, and Gasp does not pass them on.

Rating your series

Every series carries a film rating on the G to NC-17 scale, set from a review of its script topic by topic (a studio rates an uploaded series itself), and you must keep it honest:

• G and PG — mild conflict, mild language at most, no violence beyond a shove.
• PG-13 — drama, some strong language, non-graphic violence, romantic tension.
• R and NC-17 — strong language, sexual themes, or significant violence. Viewers must confirm they are 18 or older before an episode plays.

Under-rating a series to reach a wider audience is treated as a deliberate breach, not a mistake.

AI disclosure

Episodes on Gasp are generated with AI in the studio, or made elsewhere and uploaded by a studio that holds the rights to them. A series generated in the studio is tagged “AI generated” wherever it is listed, and says so on its page. Do not present generated footage, from Gasp or anywhere else, as documentary, news, or a real recording of real events.

How we screen

Scripts, character descriptions, and shot prompts are checked automatically before any image or video is made from them, so a blocked prompt costs you nothing. An episode that contains video you uploaded is checked from a few still frames by an AI model, and anything it flags waits for a person. Generated images, and episodes made only of generated clips, are not checked automatically; a person reviews every episode before it goes live, and a published episode can still be reviewed after the fact.

Reporting

Every series page, the player, and every creator and studio page have a report button. Pick the closest reason, add detail if it helps, and send it. Reports go to a moderation queue reviewed by a person. We do not tell you the outcome of an individual report, but we do act on them.

A work inquiry that reached your inbox can be reported from there in the same way, and you can block its sender from sending your page more.

For copyright specifically, use the DMCA process instead — it is the only route that carries legal weight.

What happens when a rule is broken

• Suspend an episode — it leaves the library and stops playing immediately.
• Suspend a series — the whole series and its episodes leave the catalogue.
• Remove an episode or series — only once it, or its series, has been suspended. It is deleted from Gasp and cannot be brought back, and viewers who had unlocked it lose it.
• Hide a page — a creator’s or a studio’s page comes off Gasp and its address stops working. The series on it stay in the library unless they are suspended too.
• Change a name or handle — a person’s or a studio’s name or handle that breaks these rules is replaced, and the headline and kicker on their page may be cleared with it. The old handle is held, so nobody can claim it until we release it, and the new name and handle stay locked until we lift the lock.
• Pause generation — the creator keeps their account, but their renders, AI writing and voices are paused, and queued work that had not started is stopped.
• Suspend the account — for severe or repeated breaches. The person can still browse, but nothing that needs the account works, from unlocking episodes to the studio.

Each of these comes with a notification and an email that give the reason, sent to the person it concerns and, for a studio’s series, episode, page, name or handle, to the studio’s owners as well. All but a removal and a name change can be lifted, and the same people get another notification and email when it is.
